Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet Radar

We were challenged to install a truly hidden Radar Detection & Laser Defense system into this Black Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet. We used a Beltronics STiR Radar detection system and a AL Priority Laser Defense system. This pairing was a perfect choice. If you look at the consoles for different Porsche models you will see each has their own unique collection of buttons located on their console. For this design approach to work, they end up with extra space that is filled in with plastic blanks. For some of the detection system controls to be readily accessible as they should be, we built buttons under several of the blanks. By built I mean added switches, pressure springs and custom wiring into the controller. They look so good, if I hadn’t told you, you would have thought they were ‘factory switches’ Porsche-911-Turbo-S-Cabriolet-laser-diffuser-controls-flushed-in-consoleversus ‘factory blank plastic pieces’.  Then we mounted the control heads for both systems behind the ‘factory’ Ash tray/Cigarette lighter compartment door right below the buttons. The Beltronics STiR system required a mode display panel. We handled that by modifying the factory rear view mirror so we could fit the STiR display inside. This was no small feat and certainly worth every penny when you see the results. This was a very nice integration, both systems meld together to provide great radar solution. We missed taking a picture with the console door shut, so we provided one from a similar Porsche 911 Cabriolet.
